Kansas City, Kan., resident John Valdivia has been identified as the victim of Sunday's homicide on the 1700 Block of Richmond Ave.
He was 26 years old. Valdivia was found dead by Kansas City, Kan., police after a shooting event.
His family has been notified.

KCKPD investigating homicide on Richmond Avenue
Kansas City, Kan., police discovered a dead male tonight on the 1700 Block of Richmond just after 7:00 p.m. tonight.
The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department responded to a call of a shooting in the area and made the discovery there.
No suspect information is available right now.
The male is described as a "Hispanic male" and "possibly in his 20's."

POLICE BEAT: Victim from last night's homicide identified
Kansas City, Kan., resident Keith Ingram has been identified as the victim of last night's fatality shooting on the 1800 Block of N. 27th Street.
Ingram was 23 years old and his family has been notified of the identification.
The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department's Major Case Unit is still looking for more information the case.

One person was killed in a shotting on the 1800 Block of North 27th Street, KMBC Channel 9 reports.
Along with the fatality, another person was injured in the shooting.

The homicide victim from last week's incident on the 1700 Block of Haskell Avenue has been identified as Derrick Patterson.
Patterson, a Kansas City, Mo, resident, was 30 years old.

POLICE BEAT: KCK man found dead after apparent homicide
Kansas City, Kan., police discovered a dead body inside a car on the 1700 Block of Haskell Avenue following a called-in report of the unresponsive male.
While the cause of death has not been released yet, police say the death is a homicide. The identity of the victim will also not be released pending positive identification and family notification.

Police requesting assistance in Central Avenue investigation
The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department is seeking information on the location of Annicka Martinez.
Martinez is wanted for questioning in the homicide that occurred in the 1700 Block of Central Avenue on Jan. 2. Martinez is 5-6, weights 170 pounds and is described having brown hair and brown eyes.
She's 30 years old.

Richardson charged with second degree murder
Kansas City, Kan., resident Ruben Richardson has been charged with second degree murder in connection to the Jan. 2 homicide of Javier Reynoza.
Reynoza was shot to death in the 1700 Block of Central Avenue.
Wyandotte County District Attorney Jerome A. Gorman made the charges today. Richardson, 25, is currently in custody in the Wyandotte County Jail in lieu of a $ 1 million bond.
The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department responded to the location on Jan. 2 after a call of a shooting. When arriving, they found Reynoza, who was suffering from a wound.
He died after being transported to a local hospital.
POLICE BEAT: Location of man wanted in homicide still unknown
The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department is still soliciting information regarding Andre S. Chapple, Jr., who has been issued a warrant for second degree murder.
Chapple, Jr., is wanted in connection to the murder of Kansas City, Kan., resident Eddie Cobbs, which happened on Dec. 2 in the 2300 Block of Silver Court.
Chapple, Jr., is described as a black male who's 5-11. He weights 230 pounds and features black hair and brown eyes. He's 32 years old.

19-year-old charged with murder
Wyandotte County District Attorney Jerome Gorman charged 19-year-old Tanisha Story with first degree murder on Friday.
She is charged in connection with the homicide committed on the 2000 Block of S. Mill Street.
Kansas City, Kan., police responded to a call early Friday morning and found someone dead as a result of gunshot wounds.
Story, a Kansas City, Mo., resident, was charged on New Year's Day because of a law in the State of Missouri that allows only a 20-hour holding period for suspects without being charged. Evidence was presented by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department to the District Attorney's office on Friday afternoon.
Bond has been set at $100,000, as Story remains in custody in Kansas City, Mo. She awaits extradition by the Wyandotte County District Attorney. The extradition process will begin immediately.
UPDATE: There was an error to the story, which has been corrected.
Woman charged in this week's homicide
Deborah Meeks, 47, was charged in connection to a murder this Monday by the Wyandotte County District Attorney's office.
A Kansas City, Kan., resident, she is charged with first degree murder in the case of Wesley Smith's homicide. Smith was shot in the chest on Monday.
Kansas City, Kan., police found the man dead after responding to a domestic dispute.

POLICE BEAT: Homicide victim identified
The victim of last night's domestic dispute turned homicide has been identified as Kansas City, Kan., resident Wesley U. Smith.
Smith, 53, was found dead after police entered a home on the 2900 Block of Hutchings Street.
The victim's family has been notified.

Woman arrested in Monday homicide case
Kansas City, Kan., police have apprehended a woman who is suspected of being involved in a Monday evening homicide on the 2900 Block of Hutchings Street.
After responding to a call at house in the area, officers found a black male in his fifties who was dead. A female suspect was taken into custody and the homicide is being investigated as "domestic related."

COURT BEAT: Coones convicted of first degree murder
Kansas City, Kan., resident Olin Lawrence Coones was convicted of first degree murder in connection with the homicide of Kathleen Schroll.
Coones was charged with two counts of first degree murder originally for the deaths of Carl and Kathleen Schroll. Coones was acquitted in January 2009 for the death of Carl Schroll.
He was re-tried on the death of Kathleen Schroll.
The homicide happened on South 78th Street in KCK on April 7, 2008.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
KCK police asking for assistance
Kansas City, Kan., police are asking the community for assistance in locating a person of interest in connection with a murder earlier this month in KCK
Police are looking for Andre S. Chapple Jr., who is wanted in connection of the Dec. 2 murder on the 2300 Block of Silver Court.
Chapple is a 5-11 black male who weighs approximately 230 pounds. He's 32 years old and has black hair and brown eyes.
The Wyandotte County District Court has issued an arrest warrant for second degree murder.
